Jose Mourinho: Cesc Fabregas ready to prove himself

Chelsea Boss, Jose Mourinho says new signing Francesc Fabregas is the exact type of player his team needs to move to the next level. Mourinho has also backed the Spaniard to prove himself again in the Premier League and give his team an extra dimension after he sealed a move to London last week at a fee of around £30 million. Fabregas, who had earlier contacted his former manager Arsene Wenger got turned down and was told that his role was already taken by Gunners maestro, Mesut Ozil. Mourinho also claimed that Fabregas, who scored eight goals in 36 La Liga appearances will be in the prime of his career when he plays for the Blues and fully showcase his talent. The Blues boss also added that he feels his side need Fabregas' qualities and expects the 27-year-old to work hard in training to show his worth. "I think he is the kind of player who will come and train for a couple of weeks and be ready to
prove himself," the Portuguese said.
"He is the kind of player we need. Not just for his qualities as a player but also his competitive personality," Mourinho continued. "He is a player in the best years of his career - 26, 27, 28. He knows England well, he knows the Premiership well, so he will not need time to adapt." Fabregas is currently on duties in Brazil with his already eliminated Country Spain.
